Two Peaks was inspired by the two peaks in Whistler British Columbia. Zessel wanted to created an illustration that represented the vast difference between the valley bottom and the peaks that surround it. The black and white illustration flows from a fern gate to the ocean waves you would see on route to the hill. Zessel has separated the Spearhead Traverse with a small gap to showcase the line between the resort and the backcountry.

Kate Zessel
Kate Zessel is an illustrator who draws inspiration from her outdoor exploration and the surroundings that she calls home. Capturing a full mountain scene, animal or shape within a complete image is her way of recounting one of her backcountry adventures. She hopes her art will resonate with the audience's own experiences and memories within nature.
Zero Ceiling empowers youth to thrive! We believe everyone deserves a safe home, access to opportunities, and a place to belong. So we provide youth with stable housing, jobs, mountain adventures, and the support to sustain it all throughout their lives. Every year, we offer over 1000 days of adventures in Whistler for youth who are typically excluded from the outdoors: Indigenous, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and newcomer youth. We also offer them the chance to live, work, and play in the outdoors full-time, building community, learning new skills, and shaping their own futures.
