How it works

We work with artists to create gear that represents the spirit of the mountain towns we love and supports their creative cultures.

Local Neon is a Public Benefit Corporation. Our mission is to empower local artists and to support mountain town communities.

Our gear is designed by local artists who know their communities best.

Our artists choose local nonprofits to be funded by the sales of their designs that support community arts, youth or environmental causes.

Four percent of proceeds go to the artist, and four percent of proceeds go to the local charity they choose to support.

  • Local Neon products are designed by local artists

  • The artists choose a charity to support

  • Proceeds from sales are shared with both artist and charity

Local Neon artists:

Bryn Merrell spent several years working in the outdoor industry before forging her own path as an independent artist. Spending most of her free time outdoors, Bryn creates a playful and whimsical interpretation of her surroundings through watercolor and ink. Many of her patterns and landscapes are reflections of her roots in Arizona, along with the cultural and natural influence of her current home in Tahoe City, California.

Dominik Kalita is a graphic designer and illustrator born in Banff and raised in Squamish. He draws influence from 1960s Eastern European cartoons, skateboard culture, and mountain life. He’s jam-packed with obscure movie references and cheesy 1-liners.

Kate Zessel is an illustrator who draws inspiration from her outdoor exploration and the surroundings that she calls home. Capturing a full mountain scene, animal or shape within a complete image is her way of recounting one of her backcountry adventures. She hopes her art will resonate with the audience's own experiences and memories within nature.
